Chamber member Richard Zeringue recently landed a supporting role in a full-length independent film titled “Father of Lies.” Also appearing are Clifton Powell, Vivica A. Fox and rapper DMX.

Richard plays Agent Duvlin, an FBI agent on the trail of a mysterious criminal. Ascension Parish native Shanna Forrestall played a role in the film as a news reporter. The film is expected to have a limited run in the theaters in early 2007.

Rumor has it Brad Pitt will be filming in Donaldsonville for one day in January. The movie, “The Curious Case of George Buttons,” will bring a film crew to D’ville at the end of January using our Protestant cemetery. Be prepared for detours and “star gazing” on Marchand Drive.

A $20 million remake of the 1967 motion picture “Bonnie and Clyde” may be shot in Donaldsonville in the upcoming year.

Tommy Kurtz and Edie Michel of the Ascension Economic Development Corporation have been working with the producers. The old gas station on Railroad Avenue and the courthouse have generated some interest.

The original film starred Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway and played at the Grand Theater on Railroad Avenue.
