A Hollywood film crew visited Donaldsonville in June scouting locations for the film “Last Waltz of the Teardrop Diamond.” The film will begin shooting on Railroad Avenue on Friday, August 17th. The film crew will be in the downtown area for about five days of prep work and one day of filming. The $6 million film was attracted to our Historic District. Pictured with the producer and writers is Edie Michel with the Ascension Parish Economic Development Corporation.

Downtown Development District board members Liz Eure and Mimi Kocke operated the red, white, and blue souvenir booth at the July 3rd celebration.

Kids Cafe Summer Camp visited the River Road African American Museum in June. This summer camp is hosted by Xavier University in New Orleans. The children visited with Mayor Leroy Sullivan. Each child had a disposable digital camera. Mayor Sullivan is shown above poising for a photo.
