Chamber Director’s Corner

Recently Downtown Donaldsonville has been the scene for a pair of highly successful and well-attended community events; Art on the Avenue and the Avenue Evening Stroll.

This past weekend for the Stroll restaurants and stores were filled with patrons, as were the carriage rides through downtown streets. Several local artists were on hand to display their talents and local residents strolled among the visitors in period costumes. Meanwhile, musicians at the restaurants, in Louisiana Square and at the Victorian provided a wide selection of music.

Among the dignitaries enjoying the festivities were Parish Councilmen Randy Clouatre and Dennis Cullen.

I want to extend congratulations and my appreciation to all who cooperated in these events. It is very important for all of us to continue to display this type of cooperation and effort to make Donalsonville a success!
