The annual Ascension Heritage Association membership dinner was held on September 14, 2009 at Palazzo Bernardo. Guests were greeted by the president, John Marchand, who introduced the board members. He also said that he would again be president for the coming year, and Pam Gregoire would be the Secretary-Treasurer.

A tribute to Kirk Landry was given by Gregoire who was president when Landry first joined the ASHA board. She said that he used his many skills to assist ASHA whenever he was needed. He was known for his knowledge and love of Donaldsonville’s history, and he loved to tell its story. He will be missed by the community.

The guest speaker was Gasper “Buddy” Stall, noted historian. He presented his colorful version of Louisiana history.
