WELCOME

ABOUT THIS ISSUE'S COVER -
As we look back at 2009 we are very thankful for our members and volunteers. You see and know the importance of the Chamber. You volunteer your time and talents and resources to the Chamber. You serve on the board, committees & other events. YOU are the Chamber. So take a second or two and pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Let’s all work to make 2010 the best yet.

On a personal note: The last 10 years were very hard on me and my family. Watching Roy go through the highs and lows of cancer, remission and then cancer back with a vengeance was hard on us. Every day was a new day and we were thankful to still have him in our lives. What a wonderful man he was and what a great lesson he taught us all. He handled his cancer with great courage and a very positive attitude. He gave us that gift. “Enjoy every day because none of us are promised tomorrow” he would say as he worked very hard to live that way. When he died on November 1, 2008 I knew our lives would never be the same. Then I experienced my other family “The Chamber “. The kindness shown to me and my children by this wonderful community will never be forgotten. Donaldsonville is one heart beat and when one of its part is gone it surrounds the rest with love. Thank you for being there for us. I wish all of you the happiest and healthiest New Year.
